Fluid Capacity Guide

To help you with the servicing of your “Brapmobile”  we have put together this handy guide of fluid capacities for gearbox and Diffs found in various generations of Mazda RX range.

As these units do not have a dipstick it is important that you fill your gearbox or diff to the correct capacity for proper use.

Gearbox Oil Capacity

  • RX-2  4 speed Manual (Flat bottom trans) came with 12a engine usually - 2.5L
  • RX-3  4 speed Manual (Flat bottom trans) came with 12a engine usually – 2.5L
  • RX-3  4 speed Manual (split case trans) came with 10a engine usually – 1.4L
  • RX-4 4 speed  Manual – TBC
  • RX-7 FB 4 Speed Manual – 1.7L
  • RX-7 FB 5 Speed Manual – 1.7L
  • RX-7 FC3s Turbo Series 4, 5 Speed Manual – 2.5L
  • RX-7 FC3s Non-Turbo Series 4, 5 Speed Manual – 2.4L
  • RX-7 FC3s Turbo Series 5, 5 Speed Manual – 2.5L
  • RX-7 FC3s Non-Turbo Series 5, 5 Speed Manual – 2.4L
  • RX-7 FD3s All Years 5 Speed Manual Box 2.5L
  • RX-8 Series 1, 5 Speed Manual Box 2.5L
  • RX-8 Series 1, 6 Speed Manual Box 1.89L
