Racing Beat offers their Ram Air Duct for use with the Racing Beat REVi Intake Kit. The inlet of this duct is positioned in the mouth opening of the Mazda RX-8 to allow cooler ambient air to be force-fed directly into the REVi intake tract, converting your intake into a true “cold-air” intake system!

Designed by Racing Beat, this high-density polyethylene intake duct mounts under the nose of your RX-8 and directs air into the inlet of the REVi Intake Kit. This duct can also be used with the stock intake box or aftermarket intake kits to direct cooler air into the engine compartment.

The installation of this duct requires the removal of the nose from the RX-8

Racing Beat offers their extremely popular REVi Intake System for all RX-8 applications. Designed to offer performance improvements without sacrificing drivability, the Racing Beat intake system is the final result of hundreds of hours of dyno test sessions and on-road testing.

The major components of the REVi Intake System include: an OEM style air box assembly, custom-designed K&N air filter unit, aluminum mass air flow sensor tube, and a tuned-length air inlet horn. Unlike many of the aftermarket intake systems on the market, the Racing Beat intake system retains one of the important mesh screens to aid with the even distribution of airflow across the mass air sensor. The inclusion of this screen minimizes the possibility of “rough idle” issues that may occur if both stock screens are eliminated.

Working with the design team at K&N Engineering, a high capacity air filter was developed that allowed us to position a tuned-length intake horn inside the filter body. This filter design allowed us to fine-tune the length of the air horn to maximize the performance potential. We have noted that many aftermarket intake systems for the RX-8 incorporate a large air filter, which is then connected to the intake manifold with a length of plastic or metal tubing. In many cases, the size of the filter that has been selected will dictate the length of tubing required, severely limiting the critical tuning importance of the air intake tube!

A new concept oil filter which improves oil pressure drop and flow properties by approximately 30% compared to current sports oil filters. Large diameter of “Super Intake Hole” and newly developed low resistance hybrid filter allow low pressure loss. Engine response is alos improved by reducing the stress on the engine.

Most sports oil filters are prerequisite for using the high viscosity oil and therefore filter paper strength is prioritized whilst sacrificing absolute pressure loss properties. Comma 15w40 Mineral Oil

This is the standard stuff that we normally use on our services, offering a higher viscosity than the recommended oil, 15w40 will help protect the inside of your engine better especially the stationary gear bearings (a key weak point on the RX-8 when using 5w30)

This oil is supplied in a 5 liter can and should be enough for a oil change plug 1-1.5 liters spare for top ups.

We recommend 3000-6000mile (or 6 months) oil changes to keep your oil as clean as possible.

This is a standard replacement air filter for your RX-8′s air filter box

OE spec this item should be replaced every 3 years according to the Mazda Service plan.
Why not look at our K&N Filter as a possible alternative.

You may also need to change this if you have overfilled your oil and it has contaminated your original air filter

This drop in in air filter from K&N is designed to last the lifetime of your car.

It will never need replacing, unlike the standard air intake filters, and will only need washing and re-oiling (every 50’000miles maximum). For what is roughly double the price of a normal Air filter you can get better air flow and a reusable filter.

The other upside to this is that if your unlucky enough to overfill your oil (on early cars) it would have been blown up in to your intake and contaminate your air filter with oil, Possibly leading to some of the following symptoms:

• Rough Idle
• Smoke from exhaust
• Stalling
• MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor contamination

The MSD 8.5 mm Super Conductor wire is the performance wire engineered from the inside out, the 8.5mm offers everything you have ever wanted in a wire; incredibly low resistance without electronic interference! In a single 12 In. length of Super Conductor wire there is only 40 to 50 ohms of resistance! That is the lowest resistance of any helically wound wire. To accomplish this, MSD use a copper alloy conductor due to it’s great voltage carrying capabilities. The low resistance results in less loss of spark energy so more reaches the spark plug. The conductor is wound extremely tight around a special center core. So tight, that there is over 40 Ft. of conductor wrapped into a single foot of plug wire. This winding procedure, combined with a ferro-magnetic impregnated center core, produces an extremely effective electro magnetic interference (EMI) choke.

These are the cooler plugs with the following part numbers:

• 2 x RE8C-L
• 2 x RE9B-T

These plugs where the original plugs specified for the Renesis rotary engine by Mazda however where later chamged to the hotter iridium ones we have in our shop.

However please do not be put off as these are still our most popular plug for the RX-8 and we fit lots of these. with the saving over the Iridium plugs these represent great value for money.

May owners with ported or mapped engines will use these plugs also.

The Racing Beat REV8 “Street Legal”, Cat-Back RX-8 Exhaust System (Twin Outlet Tips) is the perfect replacement for your stock exhaust – a durable assembly offering a real horsepower gain over your stock unit. Our RX-8 exhaust system consists of a 304 stainless steel Racing Beat connecting-pipe, muffler canisters, tubing, flanges, and outlet tips. The replacement connecting-pipe is manufactured using 3-inch (OD) tubing and features cast stainless steel flanges for positive exhaust gas sealing.

Exclusive cast stainless-steel mounting flange has been designed to allow the smooth transition of the exhaust gas flow from the engine to the primary tubing. Incorporated into the flange design are critical emission control air passages that were included on the OEM flange design.

These small passages allow air to be pumped into the exhaust ports to aid in more efficient catalytic converter function.

The Racing Beat manifold does not remove any catalytic converters, and is equipped with an oxygen sensor fitting and retains all emissions control functionality.

The Racing Beat Manifold utilizes 1.75” OD, 14 gauge (.083″), mandrel-bent, 304 stainless steel tubing and features an exclusive Racing Beat engine-to-header flange. All required mounting hardware, an outlet gasket, and instructions are included.

The RE-Amemiya D1-Spec Short Shifter will fit both the Mazda RX-7-FD3S and Mazda RX-8 equipped with 5 speed Transmission. The shifter is a plug and play application that effectively reduces the stroke by 5mm between gears while also ‘solidly’ engaging the gears, this may not sound like a lot but it makes a big difference.

Shifting will be smoother with the upgraded brass collar compared to the OEM plastic collar and many owners report that they no longer miss gear changes during spirited driving.

This is the same part as used on the RE-Amemiya RX-7 D1GP cars.

Do note these are to fit the 5MT only and will not fit 6 speed MT equipped RX-8.

The Tier 2 kit offered here is the most common kit sold due to it including many more of the parts typically replaced due to wear. Many builders also decide to replace bearings due to the wear many rotary specialists find on original factory bearings when used with Mazda 5w30 oil from new.
