Tier 2 Engine Rebuild Kit for RX-8

These engine rebuild kits have been assembles for the convenience of the regular home rebuilder.

As with our own customer rebuilds here at Essex Rotary, we never scrimp on quality but choose to only supply 100% genuine Mazda parts or carefully selected upgrade options in our kits so you can have piece of mind that what your putting back in your engine is the best available.

Non Mazda upgrade parts will always be clearly marked and offered as an alternative on grounds of quality and reliability NOT because they may just be cheaper then genuine parts (if if they are available).

As with any home rebuild we would advise that you first assess what your engine requires as with each tier of kit we offer your will have a much more inclusive set of parts.

The Tier 2 kit offered here is the most common kit sold due to it including many more of the parts typically replaced due to wear. Many builders also decide to replace bearings due to the wear many rotary specialists find on original factory bearings when used with Mazda 5w30 oil from new.

Components marked in green denote the extra parts included in the Tier 2 kit when compared to the tier 1 kit.

  • 12 x Side Seals
  • 12 x Side Seal Springs
  • 12 Corner Seals
  • 12 Corner Seal Plugs
  • 4 x Inner Oil Control Ring Seals
  • 4 x Outer Oil Control Ring Seals
  • 1 x Front Main Oil Seal
  • 1 x Rear Main Oil Seal*
  • 2 x Stationary Gear Bearings
  • 2 x Rotor Bearings
  • 1 x Engine Water Seal Kit (please see below for details of what is included in our water seal kit)
  • 1 x Silicon Gasket Sealant
  • 1 x Hylomar Gasket Sealant

Genuine Mazda Water Seal Kit includes the following components.

  • 2 x Inner Water Jacket Seals
  • 2 x Outer Water Jacket Seals
  • 4 x Dowel “O” Ring
  • 1 x Front E-Shaft Bolt “O” Ring
  • 1 x Rear Stationary Gear “O” Ring
  • 18 x Through Bolt Seals (Dowty Washers)

* We supply the better FD3s rear main oil seal in our kits.
