Coolant Tank for RX-8

This is a replacement coolant expansion tank for your Mazda RX-8 these are a common fault in all RX-8 models as the level sensor is prone to failure on the original part.

Please note that when changing the tank there is s small pipe that goes on to the top of the radiator, care should be taken when removing this pipe (we recommend you remove it from the expansion tank end and NOT the radiator end) not to crack the plastic top tank of the OEM radiator around the nipple.

Essex Rotary Enhanced Oil Pressure Regulator for 04-08 RX-8

The new oil pressure regulator from Essex Rotary is based on a modified Mazda regulator but is designed to run a higher maximum oil pressure. Bringing the standard pressure on a series 1 RX-8 from  from a maximum of 80 psi and increasing it to around 110psi this increased oil pressure means that your series 1 engine will now run pressures much closer to that of the later series 2 RX-8 (R3)

This makes the Essex Rotary enhanced oil pressure regulator great for ported ad high revving applications, equally suited in a standard engine its a great upgrade for piece of mind.

The main advantage of the increased oil pressure would be to increase bearing protection over that of the standard 80psi found in the series 1.

Oil Pressure Regulator

The Racing Beat-manufactured Street High Performance Rear Oil Pressure Regulator for the RX-8 interchanges exactly with the stock rear oil pressure regulator on all 2004-2008 Renesis engines. It is designed to bypass at 90-95 PSI, making it well suited for street-ported Renesis engines and a piece of mind upgrade for normal rebuilds. As supplied by Mazda, the factory pressure regulator is intended to bypass at maximum nominal rate of 80 PSI

Thermal bypass pellet
The thermal bypass pellet is designed to replace the stock thermal pellet found in the front of all eccentric shafts from 1986 onward the stock pellet works like a thermostat restricting oil flow to parts of the engine when cold. however when they fail they generally fail in the closed position leading to permanently reduced oil flow this is not good for your engine. The Racing Beat bypass pellet removes this point of possible failure. The pellet replaces the stock unit and allows full oil flow from cold. So by using the Eccentric Shaft Thermal Bypass Pellet Replacement you will know the oil is reaching the parts it should at all times.

Goopy 2 mm apex seals are .075″ (1.905mm) thick and you should be able to slide a .0015″ feeler gauge into the rotor apex slot with a new apex seal in place.

Goopy Performance 13B 2 mm oversized apex seals measure .078″ +/- .001″ (1.981mm +/- 0.025mm). If your rotor slot measures .077 – .078″, then you may benefit from our oversized 2 mm seals which will allow you to re-gain the .0015 suggested clearance.

If your gap with the seal in place measures .002-.005″ it is still usable, but keep in mind that tighter clearances means greater sealing characteristics.

A Mishimoto racing thermostat is the ideal upgrade for improved cooling reliability and efficiency. Mishimoto Mazda RX-8 aluminium fan shroud kits will considerably improve engine cooling functions and the overall performance of your vehicle. All Mishimoto fan shrouds are significantly lighter than standard fan shrouds and are a direct OEM fit. Sealed Structure
The top end of the shell pipe is narrowed, oil and gas are injected, and the whole unit is sealed by crimping the metal.

Essex Rotary Air Pump Blanking Plate for RX-8

This blanking plate is designed for use on both OEM and aftermarket exhaust manifolds in order to block off the opening left when removing the Secondary Air Injection System typically when running a Decat.

Made from high quality stainless steel and thick enough that warping from heat is no problem

When installing the Essex Rotary blanking plate you will need to use the existing metal gasket and fasteners to hold it in place.

We do not recommend the removal of the secondary air injection system if you are still running a catalytic converter.

Removal of the secondary air injection system will usually cause the Check engine Light to illuminate this can be permanently turned off with our Stage 1 ECU Flash service.

Racing Beat Lowering Springs (-25mm) for RX-8 inc R3

Racing Beat designed coil springs are suitable for street or racing applications. Designed to offer a modest reduction in ride height, these linear rate springs interchange exactly with the stock springs.

These RX-8 springs will provide a front and rear drop of approximately 25mm (1/2-inch) drop both front and rear. A modest spring rate increase of approximately 20% will provide a performance improvement without sacrificing ride quality.

Jim Mederer, Racing Beat’s co-founder and chief engineer, shares his thoughts on designing Racing Beat’s suspension springs:

“Springs are very much a matter of opinion, I adjust ride height and spring rate based more than any other thing, my taste. We won’t excessively lower a car to obtain a “look”. First, the car will hit the bump rubbers far too often and that makes the car unpredictable in its handling, also it makes it harsh and it is very hard on suspension components causing them to potentially fail. We therefore make relatively small changes in ride height, usually less than 1″, depending on the application. We adjust that based in part on what we perceive the best way of adjusting for good handling.

Our primary goal in lowering the car is handling, and from our point a view, improved appearance is a side benefit. We don’t lower the car for appearance, and then take what comes in handling. We are very cautious to not excessively lower the car such that it will cause perceived problems either in safety or unreasonable changes in ride comfort.”

Weighing aprox 4.5Kg. This mandrel-bent 3″ OD racing pipe is a direct bolt-on replacement for the stock catalytic converter section.     The diameter of the RB front tubular bar is 1.25″ (32mm) x .1875″ wall thickness, as compared to the stock 1.05″ (27mm) x .134″ wall thickness front bar. An additional feature of the front bar is a pair of OEM style “stoppers” to prevent the bar from sliding sideways in the bar bushings during heavy cornering effort.

    Rear Sway Bar

    The diameter of the rear tubular bar is .75” (19mm) x .125” wall thickness, as compared to the stock .632” (16mm) x .097” wall thickness rear bar. An additional feature of the rear bar is a pair of OEM style “stoppers” to prevent the bar from sliding sideways in the bar bushings during heavy cornering effort.

    2. The factory ECU requires the airflow meter for idle control,
    3. The ECU must be wired into the factory loom. Additional components required include a long harness, 2 x 5-pni relays and an OBD interface.
    4. If the idle speed needs to be changed due to porting, we recommend using a reflashing tool eg MazdaEdit from Epifan.com to do this.
    5. If you are changing to direct fire coils or otherwise changing the ignition system, ensure that it is wired and grounded correctly. If you’re using a coil / ignitor system where the secondary is grounded, the coil ground must be grounded to the rotor housing (not the chassis). This includes LS1, LS2 and AEM coils. If you’re using an ignition coil where the secondary is connected to the positive supply (eg the Bosch 717 coils), you must have a capacitor from the ignition coil positive to the rotor housing. This is standard in factory looms, but sometimes people forget this when they wire up their own ignition systems.

    Adaptronic Plug-In Select ECU for S1 RX-8

    Standalone engine management installation has never been so easy. Now with the new Adaptronic Plug-In Select for Series 1 Mazda RX-8 can plug and play your way in to the world of standalone.

    All Adaptronic Plug-In Select ECUs are sold with a base map to get the car running, so all you have to do is plug it in to be up and running again.

    All ECUs in the Select range have an internal 4 bar MAP sensor, so you can simply run a hose from the barb on the ECU into the engine bay. You may retain the air flow meter if you wish, but MAP sensing is required for most forced-induction applications.

    Although these ECUs are plug-and-play, you still have the freedom to configure and tune the ECU as you wish, using the user-friendly WARI tuning software. Pinout tables are provided for all Plug-In Select ECUs, so you know exactly what each input and output is connected to on the engine.

    This model requires the original ECU to be left in place to control some basic functions like alternator and Throttle control as well as traction control. The Adaptronic acts as a piggy-back in this situation but the ability of the standalone is not diminished in any way.

    Racing Beat Performance Braided Oil Line Kit for RX-8 (04-08)

    Racing Beat’s fully assembled Stainless Steel Braided Hose Set replaces the original factory oil cooler hoses on the 2004-2008 RX-8, Manual Trans only. Costing much less than Mazda replacement units (over £600 for the complete Mazda set!), the Racing Beat Oil Hose sets will meet the demands of both street and race.

    Simplify your oil line system by replacing the original EIGHT (8) factory lines with the streamlined Racing Beat kit, which contains only the three (3) most critical lines – 1) engine out-to-cooler, 2) cooler-to-cooler, and 3) cooler-to-engine in.

    The Mazda factory lines combine both rigid and flexible tubing, and include ten (10) mid-hose connector fittings. Replacing this complex combination of hosing and connectors with a simplified performance-based set eliminates possible areas of leakage during racing and high output applications. As the old saying goes, “Simple is better!” Produced in-house at Racing Beat using Earl’s Auto-Flex stainless steel braid-protected synthetic rubber hose and featuring an inner liner of synthetic rubber, including partial cover of stainless steel braid embedded into the liner during manufacturing. The hose liner is then bonded to a outer protective sheath of stainless steel wire braid. Precision-machined aluminum Auto-Seal and Swivel-Seal hose ends ensure a secure and superior seal. Each line is pressure tested by Racing Beat at the end of the assembly process. Unlike earlier rotary applications, replacement of the oil lines on the RX-8 application requires substantial labor effort and is best undertaken when the engine has been removed from the vehicle. Although more challenging due to limited access, this project can be undertaken with engine in the vehicle, just allow adequate time to complete the process. With the engine in the vehicle this is an involved project that can’t be rushed!

    It has become an increasing problem as these cars age that the factory oil lines are corroding and leaking oil, the usual point for these line to start leaking is just in front of the front wheels behind the wheel arch liners. Depending on severity of the leak this could cause anything from an engine failure due to loosing your oil to an accident as of covers your front wheels. The Racing Beat lines eliminate these points of corrosion and will not require replacement again.

    Racing Beat Lightweight Flywheel

    From street to road racing, the Racing Beat Aluminum Flywheel is ideally suited for a wide range of performance applications.

    This lightweight aluminum unit reduces the flywheel weight about 29 percent from the original, and reduces the flywheel inertia approximately 55 percent. <p>The weight of the stock flywheel is 16.8 lbs compared to 8 lbs for the Racing Beat Aluminum flywheel. For additional security, the ring gear is bolted firmly in place to the flywheel assembly.

    By using this flywheel on a 5 speed RX-8 it will let you replace the small 5 speed clutch with the larger diamiter 6 speed clutch that is more durable.

    Racing Beat REVI Induction Kit

    Racing Beat offers their extremely popular REVi Intake System for all RX-8 applications. Designed to offer performance improvements without sacrificing drivability, the Racing Beat intake system is the final result of hundreds of hours of dyno test sessions and on-road testing.

    The major components of the REVi Intake System include: an OEM style air box assembly, custom-designed K&N air filter unit, aluminum mass air flow sensor tube, and a tuned-length air inlet horn. Unlike many of the aftermarket intake systems on the market, the Racing Beat intake system retains one of the important mesh screens to aid with the even distribution of airflow across the mass air sensor. The inclusion of this screen minimizes the possibility of “rough idle” issues that may occur if both stock screens are eliminated.

    Working with the design team at K&N Engineering, a high capacity air filter was developed that allowed us to position a tuned-length intake horn inside the filter body. This filter design allowed us to fine-tune the length of the air horn to maximize the performance potential. We have noted that many aftermarket intake systems for the RX-8 incorporate a large air filter, which is then connected to the intake manifold with a length of plastic or metal tubing. In many cases, the size of the filter that has been selected will dictate the length of tubing required, severely limiting the critical tuning importance of the air intake tube!
